End Goal: End animal exploitation where possible and practicable, restore ecosystems, & shift the global systems to vegan friendly.
1. Normalize (~5% vegan population - Building momentum & grassroots advocacy):
- Create more vegan advocates - not just practicing vegans
- More demand for vegan alternatives (food, clothing, hygiene products, etc)
- Vegan as a consistent available option (in schools, businesses, restaurants, clothing stores, etc)
2. Compete (~15% vegan population - Corporations can no longer ignore us):
- Beat animal products on price, functionality, convenience, taste, etc
- Force supply chains to adapt to this nearly 1/5 population shift
3. Legislate (~25% vegan population - We can start shifting government and laws):
- Larger scale advocacy/protest to shift subsidies from livestock to crops (reducing price of most plant based products by 15-30%)
- Animal protections & environmental mandate laws (both contribute to pushing on animal ag)
- Laws for educational systems to add curriculum on the importance of animal rights
4. Transform (~50%+ vegan population - Correcting and improving the mistakes of the past):
- Rewild & convert farmland back into prominently native ecosystems
- Minimize animal use globally - Goal being that only niche, genuinely unavoidable scenarios of animal use remain
5. Maintain (~85%+ vegan population - We’ve meaningfully achieved our goal, now sustain):
- Close remaining exemptions (no more possible scenarios where animal use/exploitation is needed for virtually any scenario)
- Monitor/defend what has been built to ensure backsliding away from veganism doesn’t happen
